Hands-free Story guide
Instagram Stories With Meta AI Glasses
Instagram has dedicated Story tools for footage from Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Meta Glasses. Choose supported footage from your gallery, tap the glasses icon in the editor, then use spin view, multi-cam, reframing, audio, or speed only when that choice helps the viewer understand the scene.

The direct workflow
- Capture a photo or video with Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, or Meta Glasses.
- Start an Instagram Story and choose the glasses footage from your gallery. A glasses icon identifies supported media.
- On the edit screen, tap the glasses icon beside the other editing tools.
- Choose one useful treatment: spin view, multi-cam, Expand, Audio, or Speed.
- Preview the complete Story with sound on and off before sharing it.
A point-of-view camera records what the wearer faces. It still needs an editorial decision. Name the moment the viewer should notice, trim the setup, and keep private faces, screens, addresses, and conversations out of the frame unless the people involved agreed to appear.
Use spin view when place is the subject
@_amaury_guerra's cached travel image points to a useful spin-view test: let a viewer inspect a street, beach, or public square when the surroundings carry the story. Instagram says viewers can rotate their phone to pan through the full perspective. That interaction earns its place when looking around adds information.
Record one steady moment before adding movement. Open on the landmark or action that explains the location, then leave enough time for somebody to turn the phone and explore. If the important subject occupies one small part of a wide capture, use Expand to reframe around it instead of asking the viewer to hunt.
Keep location safety separate from format. A broad view can expose street signs, house numbers, badges, or a repeated route. Delay the Story or crop the frame when the place is more specific than the audience needs.
Give each multi-cam angle one job
@armadillohans combines travel and bartender subjects. A glasses angle can show hands making a drink while a phone angle shows the explanation or finished result. Instagram's multi-cam tool synchronizes the phone and glasses clips, but a synchronized pair still needs a reason for both views.
Write the two jobs before recording. Use the point-of-view clip for the action that hands perform and the phone for context, expression, or the result. Cut either angle when it repeats the same information. For a noisy room, use Audio to lower environmental sound and raise the voice, then listen through phone speakers before posting.
Speed can shorten waiting or slow a precise movement, but keep the essential step readable. If the sequence needs more than a few Story frames, use the Instagram Reels workflow for a longer edit.
Review five things before sharing
- The first frame makes the subject clear without a spoken introduction.
- Spin view or the second camera reveals information rather than repeating the main frame.
- Speech remains understandable against wind, traffic, music, or room noise.
- Text stays readable and does not cover the action.
- Everyone visible or audible is comfortable appearing to the selected Story audience.
The Instagram Stories guide covers audience, timing, and the job of each frame. Use the Instagram alt text guide when a permanent post also needs a useful image description.
