Instagram Shared Access: Add a Teammate Without Sharing a Password

Instagram Shared access lets an eligible account owner invite trusted people without sharing the password. Instagram's Help Center says eligible accounts can invite up to three people. Meta One raises that limit to four people with Advanced, eight with Expert, and 30 with Max. Check the controls and offer shown to your account because eligibility, price, and availability may vary.

The direct answer

Use Shared access when another person has a real publishing job but should not know the owner password. Eligible accounts can invite up to 3 people through Instagram's standard Shared access flow. Meta One Advanced allows up to 4 people, Expert allows up to 8 people, and Max allows up to 30 people. Give each teammate a named responsibility, keep approvals outside the Instagram login, and remove access as soon as the work ends.

Assign the job before inviting the person

EPIC Creative's public profile combines agency work, employee expertise, hiring, and client stories. That mix can involve several contributors, but it still needs one accountable publisher. Name who supplies the source material, who checks client approval, and who can correct or remove the post.

Write the assignment in plain terms: "Prepare and schedule approved client case-study posts through October 31." A role such as "help with Instagram" gives nobody a clear stopping point and makes later access reviews harder.

Make the handoff specific enough to audit

Stickman Studios presents short films, behind-the-scenes work, and experiments. A post can pass through an editor, writer, credited collaborators, and a final publisher. Shared access solves the login handoff, while a short production record solves the editorial handoff.

For each post, record the source files, approved cut, caption owner, credit list, publication time, and person allowed to make corrections. Keep private customer details and unused footage out of the caption document.

Use a five-step access checklist

  1. Owner: keep one person accountable for account security, billing, and the final invitation.
  2. Scope: describe the teammate's content job and the date it ends.
  3. Approval: decide which posts require legal, client, partner, or owner sign-off before scheduling.
  4. Recovery: keep the owner email, phone, and authentication methods current. Do not transfer those details to a content contractor.
  5. Removal: review the invited people on a fixed date and remove anyone whose assignment has ended.

Meta's Shared Access Terms define the owner and delegate relationship. Read the current terms before accepting access for a company or client.
